The journey

From the research bench to medical school.

Before medical school, Taylor Beedie worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator at London Health Sciences Centre in Canada, in paediatric gastroenterology and paediatric neurology.

Her research centred on celiac disease and contributed to peer-reviewed publications, including work on elevated transaminases and histological findings in children with the disease.

She continued toward medicine through the Graduate Entry Medicine program at the School of Medicine, University College Cork, in Ireland, where she also sits on the editorial masthead of the UCC Student Medical Journal.

With MMI Made Easy

Reasoning out loud, under pressure.

For a candidate with a research background the challenge is rarely knowledge. It is communicating reasoning clearly, responding to an unfamiliar situation, weighing competing perspectives and staying composed when the format is unpredictable.

Her preparation translated the discipline of clinical research into the interpersonal, high-pressure setting of the interview: realistic scenarios, individualized feedback and repeated refinement.
